I need advice on gym stuff - I’m going away for five

days to a five star hotel where you literally have a 3 course breakfast, lunch and dinners, with mini cakes in between. I already need to lose a lot of weight so want to hit the gym. My usual exercise is just cycling and walking though.

Just looking for advise on what to do. Maybe it’s a stupid question but I know when I get in there I’ll just be mindboggled by the equipment and won’t know where to start. It’s only a tiny tiny room as not many use it (who does on holiday) but it’s got two/three treadmills and cycle yokes, and weights and stepmasters etc etc.

Any advice would be great! Thanks.

Trademill is good, try to adjust it to a hill level, running upwards in medium speed. That burns a lot of calories.

Well you could just not eat everything! pace yourself, you don’t need the cakes in between. and you don’t need to have all three courses lol. I wouldn’t be embarrassed to ask for a bowl of cornflakes in a 5 star hotel lmao. They have 5 stars becuase the service is not just good but great and trust me, they will do you frekin poptarts if you asked lol.

yeah, you don’t HAVE to eat all of that.
You kinda make it seem like you are obligated, when you’re not.
And as for the exercise. Most machines tell you what they do somewhere on them. Work all muscles while you’re there. Not all on one day. back and biceps go together one day. triceps and chest go together another. legs are by themselves. and as for running, bicycles and abs. that can be everyday along with the main muscles you work on. hope that helps

Hah hah. I didn’t mean I am obligated to eat everything. All I meant is that, it’s a family holiday. And when you sit down for lunch, you order starter, main course and dessert. When you sit down for dinner, you order starter, main course and dessert. When you sit down for breakfast, you order starter (yoghurt), cereal, and then a type of fry or fish. It’s the type of place that you pay so frickin much to go to that you would have to be an idiot to say ‘actually, no, I won’t have desert today’ or ‘I’ll just have main course’. The majority of what you pay for is the food as that’s what the place is renowned for. I never eat cakes in between the meals cus that would be fairly ridiculous, and I always go for the low calorie options on the menu if I can help it (they at least put asterixs beside the healthiest options, which helps).

And yeah, I guess the machines will give me instructions. Thanks for the bits of advice, they are helpful.

It is really not necessary to not eat but what you can do is to cut portion sizes. Eat half what they put in front of you. Between meals when it’s cake time, they usually put cheese and fruits too, if you want, just eat a small fruit. Portion size is the magic word. Anything bigger than your palm of your hand or is more all together on your plate, then you know you overeat. Have a wonderful vacation.
