Fish oil and fleas

Okay someone once suggested to me that giving my pets fish oil capsules would help aid in reducing the amount of fleas they have. But so far I’ve found nothing online to back this information up. If you can help me verify whether this is true or not I would be greatly appreciative as I really don’t want these fleas around anymore, and if you know it does work. How many capsules a day should I give them? My dog is around 30kg and my cat is closer to 2-3kg.

What kind of pet? I don’t think I would believe in a Fish oil cure for fleas. Usually a special formula flea bath does the trick. Should be available at your local pet store.

Trust me I’ve used every flea shampoo, carpet spray and collar there is, nothing has worked, hence why I’ve turned to alternate methods of flea control, and as for what kind of pet, well I mentioned it in the post, a cat and dog.

Take your pets to the vet then.

I didn’t see the types of pets until after I re-read your post.

I doubt the vet would be able to offer more than I have already tried, its just so aggravating having so many fleas around. I comb them, wash them, use spot on treatments, flea collars, change and clean there bedding constantly, I’ve sprayed the whole house even, they just wont go away!

I think a vet would know since they did go to school and learned about that type of stuff, ie.. causes, treatments, prevention. Good luck anyway I hope you seek professional assistance with your flea problem.

garlic capsules and tea tree oil around the neck should help. But if you have a large infestation you should spray the whole house to rid yourself of any unhatched eggs and prevent re-infestation
