Error help: Hi, - Help.com

Hi,

I have a 250 GB Western Digital Hard Disk
It had overlapping partitions and one day all my partitions got deleted and the hard disk showed up as a 250 Gib RAW disk. Luckily my OS was on another disk and i used recovery software to recover my data. Now that i have recovered the data, what can i do to prevent overlapping partitions in future? How do i format the disk?
Please help
