Can someone help me think of a way to fictionally reverse an earthquake?
I have to do a pop up book for science about plate tectonics and earthquakes. I just need some kind of Star Trek, scientific mumbo-jumbo way to reverse some major earthquakes that evil mole men have caused because they were angry about the noise and commotion that goes on above the surface.

Well, if moles are your problem…how about their tunnels cave in and put the land back the way it was. Not to mention no more moles! :)
Well if you want something made up how about this.
The people stopping the earthquake first analyze frequency of the S and P waves coming from the first earthquake. They then produce another earthquake that will cancel out the first one with destructive interference.
That’s the best I can come up with right now. Hope it helps.

hmm well the year in the book is in 2020 and there is peace everywhere… how about a more peaceful way?
Oh yea, they way they do it is by “building giant machine that would create large amounts seismic waves against the upper ground which would cause plate tectonics to fault and create earthquakes which would destroy all of the cities.” hehe
Ok, plant flowers and enjoy the new landscape! Better??

Hehe, but the reason why the mole people were causing the earthquakes is because of the commotion on the surface. I was thinking of having the silver surfer come from outer space and do some “scientific mumbo jumbo” which destroys the mole peoples machine…. then later the humans and mole people have peace.
I just need an idea to fill in the “scientific mumbo jumbo” part. An example of what i mean is in one of my posts where i explain how the mole people create the earthquakes :)
u cud try doin the whole..
butterfly effect thing :P
goin back in time and fixing it XD

hey thats a good idea! :) but how would the humans and mole men resolve the commotion problems?
Humans build these crazy floating land thingys so that theres no more noise on the ground. ;) ~then all the animals can live peacefully on the surface, without worry of extinction~

Nice ideas :D
oh.. they hav to solve their problems? XD
hah lol..
the humans wud probably end up makin it al worse..
since thats kinda wat happens in tbe movies lol
The humans abandon the planet and go to mars…where we accidentally destroy an almost extinct species…
Ok, I finished all the lines and stuff. Thanks for helping everyone! :D
