Hi,

I need the application software for a Freecom Classic external dvd drive rw+/- 12x. I’ve tried the Freecom site but can’t find it there. Anyone help?

application software? You can download dvd software all over the net (cnet.com) or buy in stores. Or do you mean drivers?

Thanks Eddieee,
This is a dvd rewriter that my son had no use for, but he cannot find the installation disc. The pdf copy of the installation procedure I have from the Freecom site calls it application software, but it’s effectively a driver.

I’m a cnet subscriber so I’ll give that a try.

Thanks for the prompt, helpful repy.

What operating system are you using (win98,xp vista) ? Shouldn’t need driver with these.

Windows XP. I’ve downloaded a programme and tomorrow I’ll give it a try, but I’ll see if Windows XP will automatically select a driver first.

Thanks for your help - I’ll keep you updated

Hello Eddieee,
My problem is now sorted. Windows picked up a driver for my DVD device automatically and I’ve tested both CD’s and DVD’s satisfactorily.
Thanks for your help.
