Well!
If Im correct teh policy isnt one child!
From my understanding, you can have up to two children (second one there are certian taxes) or more if you have the financial means to support them…
If not then there are huge fines and supposedly the third child isnt even registered, that means no passport and health priveleges…

Well, I feel there are problems with it, because with this policy, the average age of the people keeps increasing over time and you will have a very small population in the working age to support an ever growing population in the retirement age…

But, better health control systems and a system where the full potential of the population is realised is more useful…

Of course birth control should be looke into…

Pros: Helps with population control so they are not met with having more people than the food supply can feed

Cons:
most couples want a boy so he can continue the family name so most girls are put up for adoption. She is usually adopted by forginers. Leaving the girls exploited

There are more males than females

It has also been reported that people kill their first born if it is a girl
