A little help?

OK, well I’ve been playing on my school’s tennis team for a little over a month now. I’ve personally played for a little over a year. I admit I am not excellent, but I *am* better than at least a quarter of the JV team =P

So I have played six games so far. I have played 1/3 of them with a partner who really doesn’t seem suited to me. Like, really. He has trouble serving, can’t do any spin, and even when he’s up at the net, he angles his racket so that the ball goes way up, not forward. He’s also kind of short, and not so good at the net. Normally, I’m a nice guy and try to work with these people. I’ve helped him with his serve, etc. but I can still beat him about 8-0 in singles. I have lost all the games I’ve played with him. You’re probably thinking, “oh man, 2, man, it’ll kill you” (sarcastically, of course) but I am really annoyed that I’m probably going to be stuck with him again on the next game.

I feel like a bad person for saying all this, but I really don’t want all these losses to go on my college record O_O and I really want to start winning again.

So, firstly, am I a jerk for saying this and wayyyy too confident in myself?

And secondly, what can I say to my JV coach to get him to stop pairing me with this kid? Please help me here.
