“Assimilation Stole My Friends”
Giggle water and a smoke
Crooked ceiling
Record playing
Awkward child with criss-crossed legs
Terminally ill and awry minded
Bow to your God and spoil the flesh
Polo shirt that’s half untucked
Skinny black jacket, all zipped up
I feel Tipsy and anxious
Smokey and dirty
Drink slowly my friends
Save a natti for the band
Cozy, dizzy
Drinks on me
We’ll drink to distress
Hope it lasts through the night
Heat it up, wrap the herb
Sober is a sad word
Credit cards and magazines
Dollar bills and shredded jeans
We find our God in a ring of fire
Play all the cards so as not to remember
The day were now ending
And night were beginning
Time is lost with words
And prestige with the last cigarette
Dancing and kissing
And cursing and shouting
Drinking and driving
And parking and sleeping
Cripple the mind to save a life
