HELP, is anyone here good with files and photos on computers?

So here’s what I did:

I used the Photoshop (called Photoshope Elements 6.0, if that helps) on my computer to edit a photo of a teacher for our high school’s yearbook which is online. I went to save it, as I have done with other photos, and this is where the problem began. The *original* photo was named Picture 007 in the file that I kept it in. So I simply named the new photo Picture 007.1 while saving it……… I think that was the mistake. Maybe I shoulddd have made it Picture 007a, or something, because the .1 might have messed it up.
?!??!?!?!??!
So then I exited out of Photoshop and opened the file that I was keeping the before & after pictures in. The new picture (Picture 007.1) was showed as a box with a question mark in it, since the mode/setting was under ‘thumbnails’ so I could preview the picture.. or see a small version of it. If I double click on it, it will open and I can see it, only it doesn’t open with Photoshop, I open it with an older program I had on my computer called ACDSee.
I went onto the yearbook website to try to upload the picture BUT THE NEW PICTURE IS GONE ON THE UPLOAD MENU. PLEASEEE HELPP.
I believe that the only way to change this is to change the type of file to a JPEG which is what the original photo is. I checked the Properties of the new picture and it says that the File Type is “1 File”.. what the heck does that mean? and I don’t see a way to change that. HELP =[ I really really really really really really raah-heeeeally don’t want to have to go back and edit the original ALL over again!!!

fml, anyone?

Think you saved the image without an extention, either give it an extention by renaming the file (only works if you set up your computer to show file extentions (Windows)), or reopen it with photoshop and save as a jpeg (select the right file type from the save menu and save).

Just right click it and rename it 0071.jpeg and it should open in photo shop. Hope this helps :-)

****, nothing is working!! Soo freaking frustrated…

I can’t just rename it with a new extension because my computer is an idiot, it considers that to be A PART OF THE NAME. jads;lfsf

Wait. Why can’t you rename it with a new extension exactly? You say that it considers the extension to be part of the name, but I’m not quite sure what you mean by that.
