Help help: NYU - realistic? - Help.com

NYU - realistic?

I’m a student currently in England. I apply for university later this year and attend next year. As I live in England, I know that applying to schools in America will be expensive and I know it will be harder. I want to apply to NYU, it’s always sorta been a dream of mine. I’m not too sure how realistic this dream is, and I know it’s hard to get into but apart from that I don’t know too much. I’m also not sure of the grades I will need to get in, the website I didn’t find at all useful.

I really just need advice from anyone who might know anything about international students applying to uni in America or anything. At this point, any snippet of information is useful…

That’s the thing, I’m really not sure how and what that would involve. I know it’s very different to England.

I just need more information in general and then decide.

Also, I don’t want to apply when I may have no chance, because getting rejected from NYU would be so devastating.

Ive heard its not much more expensive to study abroad. Theres some way to do it but I dont know how. Some exchange program or something.

I was almost considering doing that and go to England lol

Yeah, it’s around 18,000. I don’t know how i’ll get the money but I will try everything. Anything and everything!

Exchange would be cool, but I want to live in New York. I don’t plan to stay in England whatever happens. So I think going to uni there will definitely be a bonus.

I really want to go aswel, i found a website a few weeks ago about studying in the USA and theres monthly meetings in London were you can meet admission officers Etc.(http://www.fulbright.co.uk/advice-resources/usa-college-day) Im deffinately going to go! You should also check out other colleges in America, My plan is to apply to as many as i can that i want to go to and then hopefully ill get into one that i want!
Im not sure which grades you have to have because when ive asked before everyone has siad (4.0) etc, Hopefully they will tell me at the meeting?
Do you have any etracuricular activities as i know of universities over there ask for them, i need to sort one out:)
And i would suggest emailing the school, calling up and visiting there. Im only 16 but my family have booked a trip over there so i can go check out NYU and get some info.
Sorry for the essay:) and good luck!
