If you are inthe U.S., there is help through local programs.as stated by Westnoteast, for food stamps and housing for lower income families if there are children involved-the salvation army is a good place to start as far as networking and finding resources that are available-you just have to call around and find out where the places are and go and apply-the county seat ususally knows where the nearest health clinic is and food stamp office-there is also the Angel Food Network that has great food for a really low price-you find the office near you and pay a fraction of what the food really costs-you actually place an order and pick up the goods on a designated day.
