Film help: I’m starting out here on help, and I’d like to know - Help.com

I’m starting out here on help, and I’d like to know how I can “help” or what I need “help” with, but nothing is coming to me…

OH I KNOW!

Does anyone have any ideas as to how one could compare Pan’s Labyrinth to the Myth of the Minoan Labyrinth? Any ideas or forms of discourse would be greatly appreciated.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read or heard about the Minoan Labyrinth.

The biggest difference I would say is that the Minoan Labyrinth is a myth, plain and simple, whereas Pan’s Labyrinth is historical fiction with parallel action in a fantasy world. The protagonist (the girl) in Pan’s escapes daily from the hellish world of the Spanish Revolution to her own private world of fairies and monsters. While her step father, who was once seen by her mom as their savior, turns out to be a monster himself, the fantasy character Pan (who appears grotesque) turns out to be her protector.

While in the Minoan Labyrinth, the main character escapes to the real world, in Pan’s the main character escapes into the labyrinth to the fantasy world.

That’s quite an interesting parallel between the two…I hadn’t thought about the differences in to where the protagonists are escaping; this certainly helps to stimulate some of my thought receptacles. Thanks for taking the time to say what you did. It was quite eloquently said as well. :-)
