The references, Bibliography and external links of Australia’s Wikipedia page should help.
Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia
There is a fairly good link buried in there.)
Oh, I should mention, some sources might not be very objective due to the whole “aboriginal” thing.
Really? There is census information dating all the way back to 1901 in one of those links.
What is it, exactly, that you are needing?
Ah. I understand… You’re looking for the cultural impact of religion on Australia…
Let me see what I can find.
yesss.. its difficult to find.
they like to just tell you about the founding.
look at stolen generation, christianity really messed up with supressing the indiginous people of australia. things like missionaries and taking away half-casts. if your australian though you probably knew that…
How about this?
(as an example of a source, not the actual information)
im doing an essay on two poems ones an australian poet and theres information on him but hes not from a religious family so theres nothing on it in his biographies and i jsut need a small amount of history to compare it to an english author from a more religious time.
he wrote a poem called “Surely God was a Lover” though i haven’t read it but i might help. MY THOUGHTS: he grew up in a rural area, penola so therefore there wasn’t either a church very nearby and may not have even gone. depends on the wealth of the family and how far out they were from the town. during the time, england and aus in terms of religion weren’t too different. christinaity was just as important although, seeing as a lot of people were descents of convicts it should be noted that they were not really religious and were just labourors. i dont know enough about his background but hope this give you some things to consider. goodluck
thank you i think im just gonna write it then see if i can find anything in the library tomorrow and if i do ill add it in then.
thanks for your help tho guys ^^,
byes.
