homework help: Seriously stuck with my Spanish homework, and could use some help. - Help.com

Seriously stuck with my Spanish homework, and could use some help.

I need to answer the following two questions using positive formal commands:

—¿Llamamos a tu papá ahora?

—¿Traemos las sillas ahora?

I understand that direct object pronouns must connect with the verb at the end, and there must be an accent on the stressed vowel. What I don’t understand is why the answer I came up with for the first one is considered incorrect:

- Sí, llaménlo ahora.

The accent is right, the conjugation seems to be correct, so why is it coming up as incorrect?

I have nothing for the second answer.

I need to get this. I’m seriously at my wit’s end on this, and I just don’t understand. ARGH!

For the first question, you can answer:
—¿Llamamos a tu papá ahora? Sí, llamen a mí papá ahora (long answer)
Sí, llaménlo ahora (short answer)

—¿Traemos las sillas ahora? Sí, traigan las sillas ahora (long answer)
Sí, traíngalas (short answer)

I hope to help you

Gracias, Paola, but those are both coming up as incorrect.

The book uses a computer-generated answer system to answer the questions, but it is also very specific. Obviously my answer, though correct, is missing something that the answer system requires, but I can’t think to figure out what it is.

Good idea, Risen Demon, but none of the other answers require the noun to be present, only the conjugated verb and the word “ahora”. I’ve tried without “ahora” but it comes up as incorrect as well.

Doing language homework via computer & Internet is a guaranteed problem.

It won’t allow more than one person to be logged in at once.

I e-mailed my professor about it. There must be an error on the answer system’s part or something. She’ll figure it out.

Thanks all the same, you two. You’ve been a major help.

Okay, so my professor e-mailed me back and here’s what I got from her:

Both of the answers below are not right. In #1 you are missing a word and your accent is not in the right spot and in #2 your verb is not spelled correctly.

I’m not missing a word, but I did have the accent in the wrong spot, as I finally discovered the answer to be “Sí, llámenlo ahora.”

The second one, it turns out, was “Sí, tráiganlas ahora.”

Don’t know what she meant by me missing a word in the first one, but oh well. All done! Thanks for your help, guys.
