During the effort to reduce the Greenhouse gases, how does it harm the economy?

(I am researching for a debate in school. So i need back up stuff. . . please)(I’m on the side of “yes it does harm the economy” because of all the changes the stores need to do.)

Catalytic converters, unleaded gas, new air conditioning systems, lighter less safe automobiles, designing new everything to meet government standards…

In the effort to get new technology which is low in greenhouse gasses,the cost of investing in the technology with long terms of no return leads to a drop in profits of such companies… Then if that technology dosent click, the company has waisted all that money. Now if the company makes the product and if there is no infrastructure to support it again the product fails… Like electric cars, if everyone starts using electric cars there will be more power shortanges and other power related problems which will also effect the economy…
Also if a company makes a product that is not meeting the new greenhouse standards it cannot sell its product and will go out of business…
Just some examples… There are alot more…
