The public? no i don’t think they do in general. My aunt was a nurse in the Falklands war and she saw some pretty nasty stuff. Plus you always hear of nurses being hit by drunk patience etc.

It depends… there are many kinds of nurses. Nurses Aids, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses. I think RN’s are looked upon as being the near equivalent as a doctor. Many of them are smarter then the MD’s they work with and I have a whole lot of respect for them.

Usually nurses are considered to be more compassionate than other professionals.

I don’t know about everyone else but I think most people I’ve talked to do. They might think of doctors as having higher status and more important tasks possibly. I don’t, though. Nurses and doctors have different but equally important tasks I think.

Let me correct you there only 2 kinds of nurses that can represent thereselves as a nurse. The Registered Nurse or The Licensed Practical Nurse. A nuses aid is a nursing assistant with means a assistant. This is just like a PA. A PA is not a doctor but a assistant to the doctor.
