Lisa can spend $400 on her summer vacation. If the plane ticket costs $200 and the hotel costs $40 per day, which inequality represents the number of days, d, that she can stay on vacation?

a] 200-40d < 400

b]200+40d < 400

c]200+40d > 400

d]200+40 > 400

okay..so im pretty sure that it isnt a or d so its between b and c but i cant figure it out it could be b..but i dont know, any feedback?

You’re right, the answer is b. In c the symbol > means greater than. But Lisa has to spend less than $400, not more than 400, so you want the sign that’s in b.
