a pyramid? oh well hm. give me a few minutes to type what I think I remember
area of the base + [(perimeter of the base times the slant height)diveded by two]
well I assume you mean 150m^2
so take the square root of it to get the length of the bottom of the “triangles”.
that gave me 12.247448713915890490986420373529
now you may ask what that tells me. not much it seems. but if you take half of that
you get your A and B of a right triangle(A^2+B^2=C^2)
A being half of that long number, B being the 3m height.
A^2+B^2=C^2
12.247^2+3^2=C^2
150+9=C^2 159=C^2
take the square root of both sides to get C=12.609520212918491531228625834533
C is the distance from the center of the base of the triangles to the tip
Then you have your area of a triangle which is 1/2*base*height
multiply those two big numbers together, then divide by two to get the area
of ONE of the sides of the pyramid. Multiply that by four to get the area of the
4 sides, then add 150m^2 to get your total area.
Any questions? I can make an image if I have to. Or if you have yahoo
I can use the doddle thing on there to make it
what are the 2 big numbers i multiply to get the area of one side of the pyramid
click that link, that is MY guess on it. though the 3m height seems a bit low. would be what, 30 degree angle or something
I gave you all the steps. If you can, print it out and show it to your teacher and ask for help so he can explain it. Math is a little hard to explain online
thanks rly i understood it now - would have been so much easier with the slant hieght thing though
