I am going camping with fifth grade girl scouts and have to come up with an activity. - Help.com

I am going camping with fifth grade girl scouts and have to come up with an activity.

The activity has to last at least 30 minutes. I was thinking of doing something along the lines of team building. Having the girls trust one another through an activity. Does anyone have any ideas??? Fifth grade is ages 10 & 11.
Thanks!

A fun game I played during the scouts was kick the can.
You can also make a scavenger hunt where the girls have to work together to solve the clues and whatnot.
You have to remind yourself that girls that age aren’t so fussy with games.
As long as it’s fun and energetic they should be happy with it! :)

oooh that sounds like fun! I was a girl guide :-)
Try the old favourites like standing in pairs and eyes-closed catching each other, standing in a circle and everyone sitting on the person behind’s lap so that the circle is whole and everyone is balanced. I used to love playing with the ‘parachute’, games with objects that you have to move around without falling off are always fun, plus cat and mouse? Hope that helps a little?

This is a winner!

Tape a sheet of paper to the back of each girls shirt numbered
with lines for each girl minus one for the the girl who wears the paper.
Everyone gets a marker or pen and writes an anonymous sentence or word
on the back of each other that conveys something admirable about the person
on whom they are writing. The remarks should convey character and not physical traits. Make sure all the same color or pen type is used to keep the authors harder to identify–handwriting will be telling enough.

I bet these lists are kept by each girl for years to come and reflected upon during times of self doubt. Loved this in school.
