Who else thinks self study is stupid?

I’m home schooled, my teacher called in sick, something to do with her being in labor XD. So she told me to self study… a lot of good that’s doing. I can’t concentrate! i keep getting distracted. It doesn’t help that no ones here to help me >.< so? Who thinks self study it stupid?!

I quite like self study actually. But i suffer from CRPS and can’t concentrate for long because of the severe pain, so i just study and have a break, study and have a break. I find it easier than school but thats just because of the illness. I do get distracted a lot though, so i make a target of what i want to complete each day and try to complete it, it kind of helps!! =)

well, learn disipline then you muppet - if you want to do work, then turn off ALL distractions, and DO it! - you aren’t that thick that you NEED someone to hold your hand are you?

it might be a good start don’t you think?

I go to an online public school, but I was homeschooled a few years ago. And I perssonally dont like it either. I had six siblings and one mum. I had to self study alot. When I didnt understand it, I just had to skip it and move on. Try writing down the things you dont understand on a notepad, and showing it to your teacher when she’s better.

I too think self study makes learning unneccessarily difficult.
Seldomly like it, not with study, and not even with hobbies.
If you would have either a replacing teacher, or a friend to do your selfstudy with together, it could be so much easier and more enjoyable.

If you can’t make any appointments with others, maybe it might help to set some goals for yourself on paper, like things you would find interesting to understand afterwards. Think of things you would appreciate to be able to do or know afterwards, and then see for yourself what’s the quickest, easiest and most enjoyable way you can think of to teach yourself just that.
Discipline is overrated. You need to make things fun!

Crank of some semi relaxing but not boring music with little or faint sounding or no lyrics.

aww bless :-D

Its about disipline y’know - me slagging you off? Well - it was a hope that you would attempt to prove me wrong, and actually do work :)

*shrug*

‘Tis your loss if you don’t! - Needing conversation is all well and good, but its all distractions - the trick is to want something, decide you can’t have it, or have to earn it, and then do the work, so you DO earn it! - Its a trick i haven’t mastered yet either, but its a good one to persevere at

(oh - and trust me - thats me slagging you off is done differently than calling you a muppet) :-D
