I made a necklace.

So i was online and this thing with a necklace/dog tags with a cog, like in gears of war. I don’t play gears of war, but I really liked how it looked, changed the design quite a bit, and made one without really thinking about it because I had everything lying around. My problem is that I don’t really wear necklaces : / which I thought of as I was almost done with the project.. So I could wear it, but I don’t know how awkward and stupid I would look wearing a necklace that I made. I thought about selling it on etsy, but I doubt I could sell it…. so what do you think?? wear it?? try to sell it?? put it in a drawer and never look at it again?? : )

..i dont know how to put up images because of the no html thing… if you can post it up in a comment, go ahead : )

ive noticed ebay isnt a great site for selling things that have been made, people dont buy that. i think other sites are better suited.

Im also a guy, i took a jewelry class in high school and half the class were guys. Think of it as soft metal work rather than jewelry making. Also i know lots of guys who wear hemp rope necklaces they have made.

thanks : )…i might, and nobody wears stuff they make because normally companies can make better stuff cheaper.. and like sum said, ebay wouldnt work too well, so I was going to go on etsy, which is all homemade stuff…

I might, but idk, my family makes fun of me for stuff I make, so I’d assume other people would…

oh alright : ).. my school doesnt have fun shop-like classes.. stupid catholic unfun-ness… i thought of considering it “fine metal work” but it still floats back to jewelry making.. and hemp necklaces would be different, because its more like illegal tough drug-ness and stuff, idk im rambling..

Here is an idea: Wear it and when someone comments, say, “I make them and I sell them, too.”
The guys will be impressed with the idea that you created it yourself and you may even take an order or two.
When you can, take a class in metal working. Men who can work with metal have a marketable skill. Some of the guys in my community college jewelry class began to cast their own designs in silver. Others went on to bigger metal forming projects.

as of yet, the only people who have commented on it have been my family.. and i cant wear it much because i go to catholic school and nobody would comment on it being under my tie and stuff so yeah.. i dont know if i want to take a metal working class but ill think about it.. classes bore me, and i want stuff to be fun : )… thats why ive learned like everything i know online.. but thanks : )
