Medication help: I have mental problems that require a psychiatrist. - Help.com

I have mental problems that require a psychiatrist.

This is a true condition, not a temporary emotion.

I can no longer afford the sessions or medication.
What do I do?
I need help for treatment.
Is there any free kind of clinics or places that offer free counseling or guidance?
I am in the New York area.

Not much in the usa is free, but Id ask your doctor if he has any suggestions, if your in New york yourself, then its the best place to start.

Hang in there, someone in the medical profession should be able to put you in touch with somewhere you can get help, Im British so Im not overly familiar with the sources in the u.s.
I take it you dont have insurance? Its hard here without, that I do know.

I agree with sasha…try not to think about the illness as much as how you feel try to find music to sooth you spirit….just make it one day at a time and have faith that something will come up with your psyc situation, focus on you.. for now..get thru the night
PRIERS are with you

You are right, I have no insurance. My former doctor won’t see me without it.

I’m starting to relax though.

Depending on your income you can get a medical card. There are places to look for help if you know where. Are you employed? Is there a name to your problem? Are the costs associated with your condition exceedingly high? Tell me those answers and a bit about you and I’ll see what I can find out. There is no reason why you should do without care or treatment, let me know, I’ll do my best for you..

@barely
I have been on disability for 2 months now for an unrelated injury. I was paying out of pocket for psychiatry treatment and I’m out of cash right now because I can’t work.
Sorry for the vagueness but I’m not looking for amateur advice for my complex condition.
I just can’t think straight to find where to look.

Jeterran, you don’t need amateur advice on your condition, I was suggesting that I could help with professional care, which I think you need at this point. The cost is negligible, the state picks up the tab for it, it’s just a lot of retesting about what you have already endured, it’s your call here, do I try to help or let you manage on your own? It’s your call??

The hydrocodone I take for pain has caused my psychosis to flare up.
I had an episode tonight that is finally winding down.
I’m exhausted, goodnight.
