Fluoxetine help: I would like to know about anyone taking fluoxetine. - Help.com

I would like to know about anyone taking fluoxetine.

I’m 2 weeks into a 20mg per day dosage and feeling unusual. Flushing of cheeks, jittery and occasional racing thoughts. Zero appetite as well. While I can afford to lose a few pounds….how long before the meds really kick in? Anyone, anyone, Bueller?

Thank you! Did You have a decreased appetite? Flushing of the cheeks? I was on it 8 yrs. ago but don’t recall having had any side effects back then? I know there is light at the end of the tunnel…it’s just a bit scary being in the tunnel. I appreciate your time more than you know.

I liked the decreased appetite bit. Other than that, the only other side effect I had was bad indigestion.

I’m new to this site. Perhaps you can give me some guidance on where to find others w/prozac histories? Does my info go specifically to those with only the same tags? Thanks again for your time..have a great day.

Im not on Prozac but im on Celexa and i kind of felt that way the first few weeks i took them. I didnt lose my appetite, thank god or else i would dissappear! lol! I felt like i was on some really weriod drug that was making me jittery and i felt like i was on crack…. Not fun at all! Thank god i only got that feeling the first night! I remember on that first night i was so scared i just wanted to go to bed and not be scared. As i was laying there all flushed i was trying to think about all the warning symptons that were on the package in case i was getting them. Its seems kind of comical now actually!

I talked to my doctor and told him what they were doing to me and how i wasnt sleeping more then 3-4 hours each night. He suggested that i take half a pill instead of the whole thing. I was afraid they wouldnt work as well but they are working great!

Thanks for the invite:) When dealing with meds it’s always good to keep your doctor posted in case of side effects.
