broken help: Hi - Help.com

Hi

I bought a XP100 Whammy-Wah pedal off eBay the other day (untested, no guarantee - should’ve known better) and although when plugged in the selection buttons seem to be working, i.e. the display changes as expected, and recalibrating appeared to work as described in the manual, there is no sound produced apart from a click when the buttons are pressed, through either the dry out or effect out. Also, both the ‘clip’ and ’signal’ lights remaining constantly lit from the moment the pedal is connected to the mains.

I realise this product is now discontinued but I’m really hoping someone can advise me as to whether I’m missing anything obvious that might make it work, or whether you have encountered this problem before and can advise if it’s repairable of not? Scouring the net, I found a few references to the same problem but with no solutions suggested.
Cheers
