well considering the pain a woman goes through in child birth. maybe it is a good time to say it then?

but this is timing

my vote is that if you care about some one then just tell them it, it only is critical if you make it so

I thought I knew real love, and said ‘I love you’ to the person I loved. I think now I only knew devotion and clinging, though. Really, one would need a good definition for love before saying they love someone, and I don’t think we can really reach that.

Adult “love”:
- a mutual relationship of persons who make sacrifices for each other to help each other satisfy needs and reach personal goals

Being “in love”:
- a personal rush of hormones that gives a high, a feeling of acceptance and self-worth

Whether love exists just requires looking at the actions of the people involved. People express their commitment to love by saying it, usually when the feel “in love”.

Simple.

People usually say it because they want to hear it back as a form of acceptance. If you don’t say it, they think you are rejecting them.

This really has nothing to do with “love” as I define it. It has everything to do with feeling “in love” and wanting to know whether the other person feels the same way and where “love” as I define it is likely to happen.
