The transformation scene in American werewolf in London, I remember seeing that when i was ickle wee and its left an impression on me since, I still love that movie too :)

The first thing that comes to my mind is human like legs, canine/bear like feet and a huge upper torso, angry wolf head and human hands with claw like finger nails.

I visualize like werewolf looks completely like human with really sharp canine teeth, able to transform themselves completely into a wolf. They can even control the extent of transformation like, extending canines, changing the color of eyes, use their wolf nostrils to take the scent..etc… Hope this would help.
