How much? It could be like an ulcer, but it’s best to talk to a doctor in case it’s something that really needs attention.

Not first hand, no.

It could be many things - do you have an eating disorder of any kind or are you otherwise healthy?

He will do what he wants with himself - don’t nag him. Just express your concern - which it sounds like you’ve done - and provide support. That is all you can do dear.

WebMD says that you should seek emergency medical attention for bloody or red colored vomit.

If it started only coz he was throwing up a lot, its probably his stomach lining (coz there’s nothing left in his stomach to throw up) or it could be a tear in esophagus. If the blood is dark in color its very dangerous. Either way he needs to go to a doctor NOW.

There is nothing you can do. You’ve expressed your concern - he will only go if he wants to go.

He said he knows what it is…
That he has a “alittle hole in his throat” and that its “enternal bleeding”

A hole in his throat?

not good enough. if he’s throwing up blood, its serious enough that he has to see a doctor. if not an ulcer its a tear somewhere along the line.. if he doesnt want to miss his work he should go to the hospital! the longer he waits the bigger the tear can get and the more work he’ll miss.

Put it to him this way, if he doesn’t go to the ER and get it sorted,it may become worse and he could be off work for a while. Jobs are hard to come by, better see to it sooner rather than later.

There are several reasons why someone may vomit blood. For example, vomiting that is very forceful or continues for a very long time may cause a tear in the small blood vessels of the throat or the esophagus, producing streaks of blood in the vomit.

Other causes may include:

* Bleeding ulcer in the stomach, first part of the small intestine, or esophagus
* Bleeding esophageal varices or stomach varices
* Defects in the blood vessels of the GI tract
* Infection of the stomach and intestines (gastroenteritis)
* Inflammation of the esophagus lining (esophagitis)
* Inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis)
* Irritation or erosion of the lining of the esophagus or stomach
* Swallowing blood (for example, swallowed after a nosebleed)
* Tumors of the stomach or esophagus

is he sure its his throat? it’s most likely a tear in the lining.. he’ll just need surgery. depending on how serious it is he might have to miss a bit of work though.
