Mail?

I am mailing a friend a letter and have a questioning about the envelope. I stained paper and made a stained envelope however, was thinking about putting it all in a regular envelope. Should I put it in a reg envelope, should it be special or is a reg. envelope cool, or should I just mail the stained one (if its legal)
