I hate the myth that swine flu has something to do with pigs. I doesn’t! It’s just a different strain of the flu virus that people aren’t as immune to as the common flu. One thing that people don’t understand is that every year the flu evolves into something that people have not yet become immune to. People get the flu shot because it protects against known flu strains, but the flu is always evolving so it can’t protect against everything. Also, people should not be panicking because you probably aren’t even at risk for the swine flu unless you are around sick people and don’t take safety precautions to protect against illness, if you have a weak immune system, if you are elderly, or very young - these people are at most risk for the swine flu! Just take safety precautions to protect yourself and others against transfer of germs and illness (cover your cough and wash hands frequently)!

100,000’s of people go to the hospital each year for influenza and like 3000 have the swine flu…got to love the media….they really know how to blow crap out of proportion.

It’s simple - maintain a healthy life but please don’t be so obsessed that you have a bottle of hand sanitizer with you 24/7, you need some germs to keep your immunity system strong and ‘up to date’.

Wash your hands before meals, after going potty and just be happy!

Happy living!
