I mean

Open Windows Movie Maker
Then go to File
Under that tab should be something like import media and select the file you want.
It should show up in collections then drag to the timeline and you should be able to watch it on the little screen it provides.

And i just thought of using Windows Media Player too xD
Yeah try media player instead.
