what are you most scared of? Try and list those things, then make up a plan to get out of any of those situations.

Truth is, it is natural and one of the number one fears. That doesn’t help i know. But at least you know you are not alone.

You can always talk to other points in the room and not to the people. When I had to do a big huge presentation a very long time ago, a friend stuck crazy stupid stickers on this inside of my hands and wrist (totally an inside joke with us…but dude everytime i got all flustered and started “um” “oh”…i would look at my wrists and laugh and just say…so where was I..and kept going. Also helped that I knew the material but memorized top 3 key points…so if i totally tanked i could remember to go back to those things….

good luck!

Suffered from performanc anxiety all of my life-tried everythinig-if I don’t have something important to do the next day, I usually sleep well-no pressure-I think people make us this way-insecure and not worthy-I’ve tried everything under the sun to help with this sleep problem-It is what it is, and I am doomed unless I win the lottery, take care of my health, and don’t have to answer to anyone here on Earth! Then, I am sure I would always sleep like a baby-life is too stressful and when you’re in front of people they are always critiquing (sp) everything about you-and they are harsh and cruel

I just took a speech class and what i learned was that the best way to give a speech is extemporaneously. meaning practice and have some clue what ur talking about, but use cue cards. They help u remember important points u wanna discuss and make u feel a little more comfortable. also think of the speech like a conversation with ppl not a speech. Before a speech its always good to take a deep breathe or two and picture success! picture getting your point across perfectly and where you will be later that day feeling good about how that speech is over. if u feel nervous during ur speech increase eye contact so u take the focus off u. if u really think about a speech is a minimal task in our lives. in a few minutes its over and anxiety about the speech can be from days before. thats horrible! prepare! as my professor always said, practice, practice, practice. =] hope this somewhat helps.

if not htis is a great book for the issue at hand:
