Love help: what do you do when you cant stop liking a guy who hates you? - Help.com

Just think about how awesome it would be to be in love with someone who’s in love with you too.

I know, it sounds too simple, but it really is preferable to the lovin’ the ones who hate you.

Plus…nothing’s more unattractive than a guy who doesn’t like you…

Does he really hate you or are you just telling yourself that because they arent acting the way you want or expect? If your trying, are you being direct? Not everyone can notice subtleties. I can come back later and tell you how to get over him if that isnt the case though.

maybe he does like you, are you sure you didn’t push him away? What did you think happended. I suggest you give it one last shot, take a bit of courage and talk to him and see what sort of vibe you get and then take it from there.

he’s actually told me he hates me, but he says he hates everyone. i dont know what happened, but he changed loads since we were good friends.

Some people say they hate everyone when they just want to push them away becuase they are hurt.

That is very true, it’s possible he’s gone through something terrible in his life and is taking it out on everyone else. If you want to maybe you should see what’s wrong, otherwise try to find a way where you don’t have to see him anymore. Find some other friends, keep yourself busy. That’s the best advice I have. I happen to not being able to stop thinking about this girl I like and have no idea if she likes me or not. I think tho he says he hates you and you don’t want to like him it’s possible you do because you know he doesn’t mean what he’s saying either.

i’ve talked to him about it more than once, he says he’s really depressed, and i’ve tried to be there for him and to give him advice. of course, ‘hating everyone’, he didnt really listen to my advice but i have talked to him.

i’ve talked about this to a couple of my friends too, we all agree he’s changed a ridiculous amount :/

Did you ask him if he wants help and say he might need some because hes pushing everyone away and you dont want him alone?

ya i actually tried to get him to come on this site but he wouldnt do it :/

Some people reject help because they think they are bothering people or that they can do it themselves and are either too embarrassed or too proud to get help.

ya it seemed like he thought he didnt even need help which is ridiculous because he had talked to me about how depressed he was just the day before..

It sounds like he needs someone to cheer him up a bit. Maybe if someone can do that then he’ll start listening to their advice.

:( Well maybe since he’s talking to your other friend you other friend can get him back with you… is your other friend another guy or is she a girl and you think maybe he likes her? :( that would be sad. But if your friend is good enough they may be trying to get you two back together too.

No wait actually come to think of it, theres this girl i love and i would often tend to end conversations with her because i was too nervous about messing it up later on. So maybe it doesnt mean anything hes doing that.

I dont totally get the feeling that you do want to stop all the way yet or else you would have stared him some.

well… i kind of do sometimes. mostly i’m just mad that i can’t quit liking him tho. i mean he hurts me more than any other person even tho he doesn’t try to.. so ya.

yea.. i dunno i do still like him, but for the first time i don’t want to talk to him, i don’t want to see him.. i don’t even want to think about him!

i just wish it could be like in 7th grade.. i could say *anything* to him and turn it into a conversation, and we could just talk forever about the stupidest crap.. oh and this is going to sound really nerdy but me, him, and a bunch of our friends would go on runescape (yea, ik…) and run around and talk for hours on end.. i just have so many good memories of that but its all gone now :
