advice help: I had a Type 4 shoulder separation. - Help.com

I had a Type 4 shoulder separation.

About 18 months ago I had surgery for a separated shoulder. I rested it, iced it, heated it, did physical therapy, and anything else my doctor instructed me to. It has been in severe pain and muscle spasms for 2 weeks now and it gets increasingly more painful each day. I am not sure whether to see the doctor again and I’m not sure whether to see the same doctor or choose a different one if I do go. Also, I’m not sure why it is beginning to be sore again anyways.

I have posted something similar and would like some advice on this situation. Advice please!

If you are feeling pain and discomfort. You should have it looked at by another Doctor - just for sanity sake. Having severly compromised your AC joint, you make be developing some other issues, i.e. you could be experiencing impingement symtoms. Muscel spasms and such are not only uncomfortable, they can complicate healing and may indicate that you have are using your shoulder in an unusual way. You should also find someone who does release therapy (A type of sports massage), they can help you relieve the spasms and control the discomfort.

Hope this helps.
