I have an interview for a job I don’t think I’m capable of doing

I’m desperate by this point and the job involves approaching people on the street and asking them to donate money to a dog charity. I avoid those people all the time, sometimes by ignoring them, which I do feel bad about. The guy who rang me made it clear that I need to be confident and a bit fearless. I’m a shy person, so how can I possibly do this?
