alright so anyone with law enforcement experience or knowledge in it help me out!

So I just graduated from bootcamp from the marine core and i’m finally a marine! My occupation is infantry…After I do my four years I want to become a cop and eventually work on a narcotics division. My only problem is I use to use alkot of drugs..This is mainly the reason I joined the marine core. I wanted to change my life and develop my character…My question is if any police department will hire me due to my past drug usage…Ive already been clean a year and will have four more to add on once I get out of the mnarine core…I know they do a polygraph test..I want to be a cop so bad..I just dont know if my past will allow me to..any help would be great! semper fi

Make sure you do your full enlistment, and leave with an honorable discharge. IF you can, transfer to MP’s. Once you’ve done that, I don’t think you’ll have a problem so long as you pass your physical, drug testing, and any drug possession charges you may have had were not felonies.
