Love help: I met this guy at and event this weekend and I really like him. - Help.com

I met this guy at and event this weekend and I really like him.

He asked me for my number there. He does not go to the same school as me and lives about 7 miles away. My parents have blocked texting on my phone and that is truly the most casual way to contact a person. Especially to avoid awkward silences while having a conversation over the phone. He has texting and left a message saying that he has been texting me all weekend. I want to call him back because I really like him and I think he really likes me, too. I have things to talk about with him over the phone but I’m really nervous things are going to be awkward because this would be my first time calling him or talking to him over phone!

If you are too young to date or talk to boys on the phone and your parents have blocked your access, listen to them and don’t get caught. Otherwise, they will ground you until you are an old 50 year old maid!

No, it’s not that I am too young to text (i’m 15) but there was just an issue with it last month.

Wait until the issues plays itself out and then text the guy. Don’t risk it.

Go ahead and call him. When things seem to get awkward (not sure how to spell that) just tell him you got to go do something, and you just wanted to call him and explain why you weren’t texting back.

You don’t even have to say why you have to go, just say you have to.
