When you have done all that you can do to get a job

and your family still thinks you are a slacker, what would you guys tell your three very successful brothers to do? I am becoming depressed because they just do not understand and never will. I have run out of explanations, and I am very tired. I come here because this site gives me hope and comfort. Now, I need something to tell them. I am fresh out of explanations for not having a job at my age, which I wil not repeat again. This site has helped in the past!

There are tons of people right now who can’t find work, I’m one of them. I understand what you mean- everyone thinks you’re a slacker if you can’t get one! i think the best thing to do would be to straight tell them, “Look, nothing i say will make you think any better of me, and i’m not gonna explain myself you you three anymore.”

Hey guys, I was so down when I posted, and all of it was true. I asked everyone I knew to think good thoughts and to say a little prayer, and now I have a great and challenging job I am off to for the next three months. So, I thank all that had good thoughts and prayed. The prayers have been answered. This job is going to be one of the hardest I have ever done. It’s just that way now in my profession, but it is work, with a chance for more, so I am truly blessed. And it’s like I told a friend today, I really do not care what any of these people, including my so-called family, think about me. All I care about is that God knows what is in my heart, period. Yes, me or my family wlll be gone soon, life is a nanosecond, at best, but I tried with them. I tried calling and just talking and keeping in touch. When our parents died, I begged my oldest brother to help keep us together. He agreed, and he and my other two brothers talk at least weekly. So, I am never, ever good enough for them, no matter what I do. I move on and make my life, and enjoy what’s left of it!
