Why is it when (on television) people are stabbed in the gut/chest, that blood pours out of their mouths?

I’m assuming this is medically correct, but why does this happen?

upp gut lower chest yes, because it prolly hitting the stomach or lungs thus creating internal wounds. coughing up blood is pretty normal for lung, stomach wounds

That’s probably the best explanation. The one that really bugs me is when a person getting decapitated somehow is screaming when it happens.

i guess when you puncture somebodys lung the blood leaks into it and the lung trys to get rid of this fluid which shouldnt be there by causing the person to “cough” it up. In terms of stomach wounds I guess the build up of blood in the stomach causes it to contract causing it to expel its contents basically “throwing up” the blood.
