Hey everyone,

I was on the bus today, and someone I know asked to look at my phone [it’s a Blackberry, I was using it when he asked. I said yes, even though I wasn’t sure if I wanted him to. He gave it back after I asked him, and I have the horrible feeling that he went through my text messages. I have texts on there that I wouldn’t want anyone seeing. I know what you’re thinking, I am an idiot. I texted him when I got home and said “I have a weird feeling that you went through my texts.”

He replied saying he didn’t, so I asked him to swear on his families life over it. He didn’t, he just called me insecure.

Now I’m really worried; the person those texts were from trusted me to keep them safe. I really don’t know what I can do, I feel terrible, and I’m scared. I know I deserve all I get from this, so please don’t just post to take the mick out of me.

Get rid of the texts- NOW? If the guy said he didn’t read them, all you can do is trust that he didn’t. I’d say not to push the issue further- because if he did read them, you could aggitate him and he might blab about the texts. If he did read them and he outs them- all you can do is apologize and never let it happen again. You’re only human, and you made a mistake. Try your best to keep it under control and if things blow- accept responsibility and learn a lesson. Good luck!

It’s not that I think he will blab to the wrong people, it’s just that I’d rather that he didn’t tell anyone at all. It’s my own fault I guess. He didn’t swear on his families life though, so he must have read them :(
