Don’t worry! periods are really not sore! They are a normal part of life. OK…they can be annoyingbut they are definitely not sore. Any other questions about periodsyou should ask a female adult you trust. You could ask here i guess too!

sometimes although this isnt common.. you wont get stomach aches. I guess it depends on how your body was made. I do not have menstrual pains. To be honest I heard that they hurt really bad. My friend said that but she was probably exaggerating.

Yes periods get to be so normal for women/girls… i wont begin to tell you how mine are because i would probably scare you more but it really has eveything to do with how your body was made.. everyone has body but they all work differently… hers might really hurt but yours might not. Dont be scared hun. You will be ok. I was doomed into starting mine.. very funny story!

okay, your mate might feel pains, but everyone is different. not all girls get cramps and pains while they they their periods and its not a bother at all for them - (like my super super lucky friends).

some girls get only a small amount of pains which barely bother them.

but for others, it is the worst thing for them a month and its extremely painful and heavy flow and they have to stop regular activity, like running, school, after school sports, (like me!) i get the worst pains.

i get pains before my period starts, the whole way through the 5 days of my period and the middle of the month and is very heavy. i dont want to go into detail about the other things i get (its gross) because of my pains. i spent days off school and woke up mornings in lots of pain, i used to go through a whole bottle of panadol in 3 days.
but then again, my mother used to suffer very bad period pains as well and had to have an operation on her ovaries.

if you come across that sort of pain when you get your period, and it keeps going on, go to your doctor and you will be prescribed for some medication. i am now on the minor pill which actually reduces lots of pain and heavy flow, and my pimples too!

so its going to be different for every girl, and there is no right period and no wrong period.

did you know 3/4 girls get PMS (pre menstrual syndrome) if you arent sure what that means go onto this web sight >> http://www.womenshealth.gov/faq/preme…

if you do get cramps, try using a heat bag which is warmed up in the microwave, or taking some panadol, or even if you don’t feel like it, try some light exercise (like walking around the block) with a parent.

i hope this helped :)
xx

Good luck

your friend was not indeed exaggurating ! it is very painful, and quite like birth contractions.
