ITUNES wont let me add new songs to myipod!

! I have an ipod touch and recently downloaded the new version of itunes, and ever since that it deleted songs of itunes but not the songs off my ipod. And whenever i try and add newsongs it shows up onitunes but wont add onto my ipod! HELP im going mad!! x
