Any suggestions on why my PC might not be booting?

It doesn’t do it all the time, but sometimes when I press the power button, a couple of the lights turn on and the fans start going but it doesn’t actually boot, and nothing comes up on the monitor at all, it just sits there with the fans going until I turn it off again.

I thought at first that something inside might’ve come loose as I have to transport it in the car quite often, but I opened it up and couldn’t see anything obviously wrong (anything I should look for in particular?) and this is getting pretty frustrating. Sometimes it’s more reliable than others. It was working fine last night but today it isn’t.

I’ve not even had it for a year yet! It’s fine when it’s actually on, it never freezes or restarts itself, it just has problems when actually booting.

Could be a number of things, is it a computer or a laptop?

Sounds like it could be bad caps if it doesn’t happen all the time. Check to see if there are any capacitors on your motherboard or video card that look strange (leaking or bulging/rounded on the top).
