I’m looking to upgrade my lame-o computer so that I’m able to play an online game (like WoW or EQ)

right now I have the demo of EQ downloaded (which is one tiny zone, whereas the game has hundreds of zones) and my PC lags so I’d like to maybe upgrade my vid card or graphics card or something… but I’m a complete noob and don’t know where to start… should I just bring it to a computer store and eat the bills..?

I’ve got a Dell Mini 12.. $1000 would be a radical amount for me to be spending.. I’m thinking more along the lines of $500 if it’s doable

First off, play WoW, it’s better.

As for your system, be sure to lower all your video and sound setting in-game to their lowest settings, and be sure to close all other memory-sucking programs, especially youtube pages, video players, auto-update sites, and myspace-esque sites.

Do all that before worrying about spending money.
