I’m a 20 year Indian (Maharashtra) boy.

My weight is 44 kg only. And my Body Mass Index is 16. I look very slim. Please suggest me that what should i do to increase my weight & my body.

97 pounds (44 kg) and 5′ 5″ (1.65 m) is very slim indeed. If your body mass index is less than 18.5, you are underweight and you could use an extra 10-14 pounds to get you to that index level. The best way to gain weight is to change your diet and exercise habits. You obviously need to eat more high calorie foods, but they should be foods high in protein, fat or starch. It is also important to stay hydrated since water helps your body to build up muscle and fat. As for exercise, high intensity workouts over a short period of time (such as lifting weights) helps to build muscle. If you don’t have access to any conventional weights, you can use jugs of water (this is the way one great American athlete exercised). Avoid aerobic workouts since these tend to burn calories and fat, thus making you even leaner.

Just stay consistent with your schedule and realize that you will not see immediate results. It takes some time (around 2-3 months) to see results.
