Why doesn’t printing more money help the economy?

I mean if government prints more money for paying extra development work, why it wouldn’t work? Who limits the amount the government is allowed to print?

The more money that is printed, the less value it has.

thats a complex question, what sort of answer you after?

the simple view is that money is just a representation of the worth of that country.

say you had a basket of 20 apples, and printed 10 bits of IOU paper saying “equal share of the basket”. I’d be willing to buy an IOU for 2 apples.
If you then printed 10 more IOU’s, I wouldn’t be happy, and each one would only be worth one apple now.

If you want more complex explanation of the policies around bank’s money lending percentages, then let us know.

Ok, from now on, I’m only giving answers after the person has at least one reply to the post.
*grumbles that no one appreciated my reply*
