My air conditioner keeps blowing fuses.

How do I get it to work?

Put a fuse with a higher ampere rating in.

Put in circuit breakers. do not put in higher amp fuses. that will cause a fire.

If you put in curcuit breakers it will just trip out the circuit anyway. And depending on the power of the equipment and supply voltage a higher rating fuse would be necessary and obviously the device and supply wiring would be capable of taking the current. if however you have been using the device for a long time, and it has suddenly started doing this, then the most probable cause is a circuit fault causing current to run to Earth. If this is the case then a higher amp fuse would still be destroyed.

We rent an older house, another tenant told us that the landlord was told to update the wiring and give us access to the fuses which are located in the basement. When we use two air conditioners the fuse blows (the whole apartment is connected to one fuse), i was wondering should the whole house be updated to breakers? Would this solve the problem? Would anyone know the code for Stonington, CT?
