Where were you?

as a student or for work?? - I know people who have done that, and if you don’t like it you could go home!
i am a student in middle school and i am moving there for my dad’s work
There are 2 people in school with me who moved from France and Japan to Ireland. What part will you be living in and where are you moving from??
its not that bad but i don’t want to leave my school or friends or my home since i was born!
Ireland is a great place :) you will settle in quick the people are pretty friendly and carefree and its doing pretty well in the current economy. Don’t worry the biggest problem you will have is the accent, you wont have heard anything like it lol

ooh kinsale, you got a pretty sweet deal, thats a really nice area of the country :) don’t threat keep in contact with your friends on msn or email, just make sure you try to make new friends when you move and it wont be so bad :)

west cork?!?!? wow that will be a BIG change!! (not a bad one!)
west cork is like the middle of NOWHERE in areas - and the accent is AWFUL!! Im from the capital so I would say that :).
Just don’t think that every irish person talks the way they do because the rest of the country dont! - the accents in dublin, midlands and the north are so much nicer.
having said that, west cork is also really pretty!!
I’ve moved from one country to another before, so I know it can be kind of daunting at first but if you think about you’re not really leaving everyone behind (in the sense that you can still always keep in touch with friends even teachers over the phone or at least through emails or messaging) … plus, you get to make new friends and explore more in life. See the move, as a new adventure or challenge and embrace/enjoy the experience!

Your lucky to have an excuse to vist there though, like I said - so picturesque!

haha yeah I get it
I live in Northern Ireland, where we don’t have the ole’ ‘leprechaun accent’. The way you say you’re scared to death would insult us, why are you ’scared to death’?

I don’t think anyone in Ireland actually speaks like leprechauns lol
i put it in inverted commas.
People call them leprechauns. because they’re stupid enough.

Well there accents are strong and irish,
and the make believe leprechauns sound the same.

hey. relaaaaaaax! Ireland is a great place. especially Kinsale. no worries, you’ll have a great time and meet lots of new friends. but FYI, you might want to start speaking like an Irish person. that way you wont stand out of the crowd as much. try watching the movie ‘the departed’ and copy how those lads from boston talk. thats as close as youll get to an american/irish accent. also, check out the irish american comedian called ‘des bishop’. try not to be the ‘loud american’ in class (no offence), people hate that. just trying to help. good luck!
good luck - let us know what u think when u get there :)
