Hello everyone my name is Scott and I am in desperate

need of some help I have been living and taking care of my elderly Mother because of her failing health I have been unempoyled for 3 years now I have worked at some temporary agencies off and on but this is just not a real job where I can actualy earn a living and because of this I have gone into very deep dept and now I cant afford to pay for my blood pressure medication,or food,or even to be able to put gas in my truck so I can go out to find and apply for any jobs I am so desperate rite now that I have tought about doing some thing ilegal but I am a good Christian and GOD would not like or approve of that so it is not an option , Please if there is some one out there that is willing to give me any help it would be greatly appreceated even if the help that I recieve is just someone helping me get a job and acualy I need that the most thankyou and may GOD bless you

I was recently told - too late - that I might have been eligible for direct financial assistance for all the the years my mom lived with us and I served as her 24/7 full time caregiver. Check out this site / article and browse around for info more specific to your situation:

A wonderful site that has helped me immensely is “A Place For Mom”. At it’s surface, it may look like it only handles nursing home placement, but it offers so much more by way of advice and pointing you towards possible financial resources / assistance unique to your own situation. If you contact them via their website, you will be “assigned” to an individual who will phone you and discuss your situation with you. Their service is 100% gov’t funded and is at absolutely no cost to you.

For immediate, short term financial relief and possible job opportunities, try browsing around and making contact with these sites:

You should also enter the name of your county into a search engine and search for your local social services agency.

Although I’ve never received assistance from any of my local churches / religious / spiritual organizations, that just might be unique to my immediate neighborhood. Do some walking through the Yellow Pages - online or in the book - and phone around.

Also: contact all of your / your mom’s utility companies and advise them of your home’s low income status; there might be discount programs available to your household.

Finally, I’d like to point out to you that you need to be prepared that you might not get many replies to your post and/or that there is a possibility that you will get negative replies. It’s an unfortunate truth that many “scammers” come into this site begging for money, and that has made many people justifiably wary and cynical. It’s an equally unfortunate truth that despite the existence of our current nationwide depression and massive layoffs, there are still people not yet personally affected by it, so they can’t entirely grasp the concept that there are people in sincere, dire circumstances.
