HELP!

!!!!! I was divorced almost two years ago. I didn’t know I was supposed to report it to my employer for insurance purposes within 30 days. I just completed a new enrollment form and stated I am divorced and now they want a copy of my divorce decree. Can I be fired for not reporting my divorce or get in trouble for insurance fraud? I am crazy with worry that I will lose my job and have no way to support my children. What should I do? I live in the US in Ohio.

not sure about your local laws, but it seems highly unlikely - it’s not fraud if it’s an honest mistake -
