I never said everyone or even anyone will experience it, or is experiencing it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, and it doesn’t mean I’m not hoping for it every day that goes by.

I would guess the biggest reason that there’s so many divorces today is because there’s very little stigma attached to it or repercussions for it these days. Even just one generation ago, my mother’s parents got divorced and my mom says she was ashamed to tell anyone because it was so frowned upon. I don’t think it’s so much that relationships or true love are degrading as that humans have always kind of failed at relationships and made bad decisions. Today, it’s just a lot easier, and more socially acceptable, to get out of it.

Despite that kind of depressing thought that marriages have always been this bad, I do believe in true love. But I believe that it is more hard work than people realize and that half of it is just determination to stick together, no matter what.

I agree with hopelikefire4.

Someone once said that “love is simply the ability to get over any problem with the help of someone else.”

Not the magic power that makes all problems disappear. Kind of like what people expect from antidepressants, heh.

true love is real and is generated on your soul level.
Unconditional love.

Unconditional love is blindness to reality.
Love needs to be taken care of, maintained, reignited in every opportunity.
is it true, then?
as long as you believe in it, it is true to you.
if it is just a crush, then you are probably lying to yourself, you can only know when the “falling in love” ends, if you still love that person when the chemistry stops doing its deeds on your brain.
it doesn’t mean it is forever, though.
people change… life change…

True Love itself will always exist, if two people truly love eachother, they won’t stop for any reason. But staying together, not being torn apart by outward forces and the world, struggling together is work. True Love isn’t work, but people are. ;p
